The design of this bridge is inspired by the body it spans, Fall Creek. The fanning structural system is a unique steel plate cable-stay design that harkens to the branches of the creek’s trees. The design team collaborated with local authorities to ensure that significant space was allocated for pedestrians and cyclists with generous dedicated pathways separated from vehicular traffic. At the bridge’s midspan, an enlarged cantilevered public space offers an overlook to the creek and respite for local residents and workers.
