about tropos architecture
Tropos Architecture is a New York–based architecture studio founded by Fani Christina Papadopoulou and Daniel Hemmendinger. With backgrounds rooted in high-design and broad, practical experience across building types and geographies, we bring rigorous creativity to our work.
Fani Christina Papadopoulou is a founding partner of Tropos Architecture. Originally from Greece and based in New York, Christina has experience on a wide range of projects in the institutional, performing arts, commercial, transportation, hospitality, and residential sectors. Before founding Tropos Architecture, Christina successfully managed the design and delivery of multi-family developments in New York as a Senior Architect at BIG, and coordinated the design and documentation of noteworthy projects, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the 16 Tech Bridge in Indianapolis, during her time as a Senior Associate at PAU. Christina is a seasoned project leader having managed multiple stakeholders, complex client groups, and large rosters of consultants. Christina was also formerly an Associate at 1100 Architect where she focused on fast-track commercial and high-end residential projects. With over a decade of experience, Christina has honed the ability to balance design aspirations with real world constraints and regulatory demands. Christina is a licensed architect in New York, and a LEED accredited professional with a vested interest in sustainable design practices.
